SAB Miller has bought two Nigerian breweries, according to local reports, in its first move into Africa’s most populous nation, and the continent’s second largest beer market.
The Business Day newspaper reports that SAB Miller has bought Pabod Breweries in Port Harcourt, and Standard Breweries in Ibadan.
Currently the Nigerian beer market is dominated by Nigerian Breweries, which is backed by Heineken, and Diageo’s Guinness Nigeria.
